For those who enjoy reptiles, the leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) is a delightful and entertaining option. Why? To start with, their small pink tongues and markings like leopards make them incredibly adorable. When fully grown, they only reach a length of 7 to 10 inches (17.8 to 25.4 cm), making them small pets.
Leopard geckos are unable to scale walls, which makes it unlikely that they will flee like other geckos. If you give these low-maintenance pets a heat lamp, food, and water, they will tolerate being handled occasionally but will also happily be left alone. What is their ideal diet? They are just one of several lizard species that can lose their tails, so please don't tug on them. Your gecko's tail can grow back, but it won't be as gorgeous as the original if it does.
