The Top 15 Most Expensive Dog Breeds In The World

2. Wolfdog from Czechoslovakia

* Average Cost: $1,500 Origin Country: Slovakia/Czech Republic The coat color of the Czechoslovakian wolfdog is a popular combination of silver and yellow gray. The dog's ancestry actually goes back to 1955, when it was produced in an experiment carried out by the CSSR Breed Association (at the time, Czechoslovakia was a satellite state). Though it may have a wolf-like appearance, the wolfdog is actually very amiable.

There are just 340 of these dogs registered in Slovakia, Italy, and a few other nations, making them quite uncommon. This probably explains why some canines can go up to $1,500 in price. Despite being undoubtedly wonderful dogs, the Czech wolfdog is prohibited in forty states. It is illegal in these states to create or own wolf hybrids. County-by-county rules differ even in states where ownership and breeding are permitted. Reports of illegal wolfdog ownership sometimes appear on CNN or Fox.
